  • Class society certification matching your flag state

Both approaches meet SOLAS, but standalone units are easier to service and replace at the end of life.

Are BNWAS units interchangeable between ships in a fleet?

The hardware is, but the wiring loom and sensor placement are vessel-specific. A spare unit held ashore can move between ships in the same class series, but rarely fits a different design without modification.
