Globe Valves Suppliers

Globe valves are one of the standard tools for managing flow on board. Cooling water, seawater, fuel, steam and general service lines all need valves that can be partly opened, finely adjusted, and still shut off reliably when required. For shipowners, superintendents and shipyards, the practical task is to decide where globe valves make sense in the system and which specifications to follow before approaching globe valves suppliers.

Globe Valves in Marine Service

A globe valve uses a moving disc that travels down onto a seat to restrict flow. The flow path is not straight, so pressure loss is higher than through gate or ball valves, but in return you get much better control over flow and differential pressure.

On a typical vessel, globe valves are found in:

• seawater and fresh-water cooling lines
• fuel and lubricating oil lines where controlled flow or balancing is needed
• steam and condensate lines
• drains, bypass lines and other places where frequent adjustment is expected

Two points shape most choices on board:

• Function in the line - If the valve is used for balancing flows, regulating cooling, trimming fuel or steam, or controlling drains, a globe valve is usually preferred to a gate valve because the disc and seat are designed for throttling. For simple isolation with minimal pressure loss, other valve types may be better.
• Design and material - Straight and angle globe valves are both common in marine service. Angle valves often help with layout and drainage, especially in cooling and fuel systems. Bodies are typically bronze for seawater, cast iron for water and oil duties, and steel or stainless steel for higher pressure, higher temperature or more demanding services. Internal sealing parts are often bronze or stainless to improve wear and corrosion resistance.

In practice, a suitable marine globe valve is one that matches the line duty, pressure/temperature rating, piping standard and class expectations, and gives predictable control.

Globe Valves Suppliers for Your Fleet

Once duties and specifications are clear, the next step is to find globe valves distributor who can actually support those needs in the yards and ports you use. You will normally look for companies that offer marine globe valves in the right designs and materials, with JIS or DIN flanges to match your piping, and class-approved designs where required. Availability of documentation - test records, material certificates and datasheets - is equally important for surveys and future replacements.

Within Records Marine, you can search for valve companies that list marine globe valves as part of their range, then filter them by region, product scope and brand focus. From there, you review individual profiles to see their experience, and contact a short list of suppliers directly to discuss valve lists, approvals and delivery to planned ports of call.
