Seltaş Shipyard

Seltas Shipyard, SELTAS Tersanesi in Turkish, works inside the Altinova shipyard zone at Yalova, on the Sea of Marmara. It is a single site of 45,000 square metres, built in 2007. The business is older than the yard: it began with the building and repair of wooden boats at Halic in Istanbul, moved into steel, and from 1982 operated at Tuzla as ASTAS Tersanesi, where 42 newbuildings were completed alongside maintenance and repair. Newbuilding continued at Altinova until 2021. At the start of that year the yard completed a floating dock of its own design and manufacture and put it into service, and it now works across newbuilding, maintenance and repair, and conversion. The floating dock is served by two 15-tonne and two 5-tonne cranes. Two slipways sit alongside it, each with two 50-tonne cranes, and the jetty crane lifts 15 tonnes at a 22-metre radius. Covered production space totals 11,650 square metres, split by function: 3,000 square metres for block fabrication, 1,500 for plate storage, 1,100 for outfitting, 900 for maintenance and repair, 800 for the paint hall, 700 for pipework and 600 for mechanical work, with a further 2,650 square metres of stores.
