PT. Samudra Marine Indonesia

PT. Samudra Marine Indonesia works at Kampung Lumalang in Bojonegara, Serang regency, in the Indonesian province of Banten, about 80 kilometres west of Jakarta on Banten Bay and close to the port of Merak that links Java and Sumatra. The company was established in 2005 and its lines are ship repair, shipbuilding and related marine services for owners in Indonesia and South East Asia. It is demonstrably still trading: the operator's news pages carry items dated through April 2026. Repair is taken both afloat and in dock, on small and medium sized vessels. The record covers tankers, cargo and container ships, cement terminal barges, passenger and ro-ro vessels, tugs, accommodation barges, self-propelled, hopper, self-discharging, floating-crane and tank barges, dredgers, fishing vessels and landing craft. Bulk carriers of up to 40,000 DWT have been docked, with close-up hold survey and cargo gear testing among the services, for owners including PT Gurita Lintas Samudra, PT ISA Lines and PT Arpeni Pratama Ocean Lines. More than two hundred vessels were repaired in 2012. Docking is on graving docks, the largest of which received a MURI certificate at the grand launching of the yard's second phase on 22 October 2017. Two slipways and two airbag launching slots are also in use, and smaller craft such as tugs are handled at berths; one jetty is rated for unloading steel plate at 8 tonnes per square metre. Newbuilding occupies 40,000 square metres where six barges can be built at once, with bonded areas of 40,000 and 10,000 square metres dedicated to it, and the products are accommodation barges, crude palm oil barges, self-propelled barges, tugs and oil tanker barges of 3,500 tonnes. The yard runs an automatic blasting and painting shop and a machining workshop with CNC, bending and rolling machines.
