PaxOcean Singapore

PaxOcean Singapore operates the group's yard at 5 Jalan Samulun, known as 5JS, in the Jurong Industrial Estate in western Singapore. The yard opened on 6 February 2026 after a two-year build, replacing the company's earlier Singapore yard at Tuas Crescent. It represents an investment of S$200 million, made with the support of JTC Corporation and the Singapore Economic Development Board, and spans 172,600 square metres. PaxOcean was first established in Singapore in 2007 and is a member of the Kuok Maritime Group. It also operates yards in China and on Batam in Indonesia. The yard works two graving docks and one floating dock of 16,000 tonnes lifting capacity, and docks vessels of up to Suezmax size. Berthing is across three piers, with 6 to 8 metres of water alongside at zero tide and quayside cranes lifting up to 45 tonnes. The work covers repairs and upgrades, conversion, newbuilding and offshore module fabrication. Covered work is done in a module and steel workshop with two 25-tonne overhead cranes, an integrated workshop of 8,400 square metres with two 20-tonne and five 5-tonne cranes for structural, piping, mechanical and electrical work, and a cryogenics workshop of 648 square metres for the cargo containment systems, pumps and valves of LNG carriers and LNG-fuelled ships. A blasting and painting chamber encloses abrasive blasting and coating, four mobile fabrication shelters each carry a 5-tonne crane, and an integrated warehouse of 1,728 square metres with a 5-tonne crane serves them. A 6,800 square metre office building houses a centre of excellence and the Innovation Hub@5JS, with S$3.5 million committed to research and development over the three years from 2026, on carbon capture, systems integration, simulation and digital twins. The yard holds a provisional BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification and the Whole Life Carbon badge, and draws part of its power from large-scale photovoltaic panels.
