Nigerdock

Nigerdock is a ship repair yard on Snake Island in Lagos. The island is a free zone, and the yard's legal entity carries the FZE suffix that goes with it; port terminals, logistics and industrial land sit on the same site alongside the yard. Docking is on two units. The dry dock is rated at 25,000 deadweight tonnes and served by two 25-tonne rail cranes; the floating dock is rated at 3,000 deadweight tonnes with a single 4-tonne crane. The operator publishes the vessel envelopes separately from the dock sizes: the dry dock takes a vessel of up to 190 by 32.2 metres, the floating dock up to 105 by 16.5 metres. Afloat repair uses four berths. Water alongside runs from 4.5 metres at the west end of the longest quay to 6.0 metres at its east end, with 5.4, 8.0 and 5.6 metres at the others. The two longer quays carry 3,000 tonnes and the shortest 5,000 tonnes, and the service jetty takes vessels of up to 110 by 20 metres. A container terminal is coming to the same island but is not part of the yard. A 45-year sub-concession was signed with MSC in March 2026 to develop and operate one at Snake Island Port, and its quay is still to be built.
