Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is the largest operating yard of the Yangzijiang Shipbuilding group and stands on the group's head office site at Jingjiang, on the lower Yangtze in Jiangsu. The group has four shipbuilding companies: this one, Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding, Jiangsu Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding at Taicang and Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding. Most published figures, including those below, are group figures rather than this company's alone. The group began as a shipbuilding cooperative founded in 1956, moved its works in 1975, restructured as a joint-stock company in 1999 and built a new plant across the river in 2005. It listed in Singapore in 2007, the first Chinese shipbuilder to do so. For 2025 it reported revenue of RMB 28.5 billion and net profit of RMB 8.6 billion, on total assets above RMB 70 billion. Group facilities cover more than five million square metres with over 7,000 metres of wharf frontage, three large dry docks and three large and medium slipways, and annual shipbuilding capacity of six million deadweight tonnes. More than 6,000 people are employed. Ship repair was given up in 1999 and ship dismantling moved off the site at the same time, leaving newbuilding as the only marine activity. A further yard at Jingjiang, Hongyuan, is under construction, with commissioning expected at the end of 2026. Products are large and medium container ships, bulk carriers, oil tankers, chemical, LNG, LEG and LPG carriers, multi-purpose ships and offshore engineering equipment. Deliveries reported in 2026 include the 9,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship Tangier Maersk, the 75,000 DWT tanker Camaro and the 32,000 DWT bulk carrier Hemus.
