Infraestructura y Servicios Portuarios (ISP)

Infraestructura y Servicios Portuarios, trading as ISP, is a shipyard at Ensenada in Baja California, Mexico. It opened in 2011 and belongs to Grupo Amaya Curiel. More than 150 projects have been completed since opening, for shipowners in Mexico, the United States, Canada and Asia, among them Baja Ferries, Boskalis, Shell, Maersk, Weeks Marine, Lafarge, Vidanta and Baja Aqua Farms. The lines of work are ship maintenance and repair, naval construction and reconversion, ship recycling, and the sale of marine equipment. Vessels handled are barges, tugs, ferries, fishing vessels and dredgers, and the dry dock takes hulls of up to about 200 metres. The north berth, with 8 metres of draft, is given over to ship breaking, while the south berth, with 3.5 metres, is used for repair and maintenance, and there is a separate quay for repairs afloat. The site covers 24.3 hectares of water and yard together, of which 12 hectares is yard. Cranes lift 30, 100 and 300 tonnes. Welding is certified by the American Bureau of Shipping and staff are kept in continuous training, and the yard's environmental policies govern the disposal of materials arising from ship recycling.
