IMC Shipyard (Zhoushan)

IMC Shipyard (Zhoushan) Co., Ltd. is a ship repair and conversion yard on Mazhi Island at Shenjiamen, in the Putuo district of Zhoushan, Zhejiang. It is a wholly Singapore-invested enterprise within the IMC Group. The Chinese legal name changed in 2025, from Zhoushan IMC-YY Shipyard to Wanbang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) Co., Ltd.; the English trading name was kept. The site runs to about 500,000 square metres along roughly 1,900 metres of coastline. Two graving docks are in service, the larger of them rated for the 300,000 deadweight tonne class, and the quays carry 12 metres of water alongside, which is deep enough for laden arrivals rather than part-discharged ones. Craneage is 40 and 25 tonnes at the main dock and 25 tonnes at the second, with quay cranes up to 80 tonnes. Routine work is dry docking and special survey, deck and machinery repair, steel renewal, hull and cargo hold coating, shafting and rudder work, electrical, automation and navigation systems, hatch covers and outfitting. Conversion is a distinct line and includes naval ship conversions, among them a helicopter carrier conversion in 2014. In 2025 the yard handled an emergency repair on the container ship Rotterdam Express and an environmental conversion of the cruise ship Pacific World. Owners in more than 20 countries and regions use the yard, most on long-term arrangements rather than single jobs. It is a co-founder of the Global Green Shipyard Alliance and works in partnership with DNV.
