FAYARD A/S

FAYARD A/S is a ship repair yard on the Lindo site at Munkebo, on Odense Fjord in Denmark. It was founded by the Andersen family in 1916, is still privately owned and has been run under family leadership through three generations. It repairs, maintains and converts merchant ships, jack-ups and semi-submersibles, and it does not build ships; where newbuildings are involved it assists building yards or rents out dock space. Four graving docks are in use, backed by repair berth, cranes and workshops. Vessels handled run across ro-ro and ro-pax ferries, container ships, crude, product and chemical tankers, LNG and LPG carriers, bulk carriers, cruise ships, general cargo ships, offshore units, service craft and government vessels. Two capabilities are set out separately from periodical maintenance and class survey work: retrofit installation of ballast water treatment systems, and repair of membrane LNG carriers. For offshore units the yard offers life extension work covering refurbishment and structural integrity. The yard is also set up for decommissioning, and ship recycling is carried out in graving dock. The same four docks serve repair, conversion and recycling, and facilities are published at yard level rather than divided between the three.
