Detyens Shipyards

Detyens Shipyards repairs ships at North Charleston, South Carolina. Its own capabilities pages set out repair and drydocking only: the yard does not build ships and does not recycle them. Four docking facilities are published, three graving docks and a heavy lift barge. Alongside them the yard has roughly 8,000 feet of deep-water pier, identified as piers C, D, F, G and H. Twelve cranes work the waterfront, four tower and eight portal gantry, lifting up to 60 tons at maximum radius. Continuous shore power is available at 480 volts from 8,000 up to 16,000 amps, which matters to a vessel sitting through a long survey. Machine, welding, pipe and electrical rewind shops are on site, together with warehouse space set aside for owner-furnished material.
