Damen Shipyards Galati

Damen Shipyards Galati builds ships on the Danube at Galati, in eastern Romania. Shipbuilding on the site goes back more than 125 years, and the yard joined the Damen Shipyards Group in 1999. It covers 55 hectares and employs about 1,700 people. The yard builds patrol ships, offshore vessels, ferries, dredgers and barges, superyachts, naval vessels and tugs. Since 1999 it has delivered more than 400 vessels, among them 30 naval vessels to thirteen countries, including NATO and European Union members. Ship repair and conversion in the Damen group run through a separate division of dedicated repair yards, none of them at Galati; the activity published for this yard is newbuilding only. No dock, berth or crane figure is published for the site.
