Chernomorsk Shiprepair Yard
Chernomorsk Shiprepair Yard is a Ukrainian ship repair yard on the Sukhyi Lyman estuary at Malodolynske, near Chornomorsk on the north-western Black Sea coast. It was established in 1951. The logo and the web domain still carry ISRY, the abbreviation of the town's former name Illichivsk. Odesa lies about 20 kilometres away and the international airport about 15.
Docking is on three floating docks. Nos. 152 and 154 are of steel, each lifting 30,000 tonnes and each able to take a vessel of up to 225 metres. No. 5 ZH-B is of reinforced concrete, lifts 4,000 tonnes and takes vessels of up to 90.9 metres. No. 152 carries two travelling cranes of 15 tonnes and No. 5 ZH-B two of 5 tonnes. Afloat work uses twelve repair berths served by eight cranes, with 8 metres of water alongside.
Supporting craft belong to the yard: two tugs of 900 horsepower each, the Liman and the Illyichevets, floating cranes of 100 and 50 tonnes, and a 400-tonne collector for bilge and sewage water.
The stated scope is repair and modernisation of all ship types. Diagnostics, fault detection and a planning and design office are in-house departments, and container production runs at the site under a related business.
