Bourgas Shipyard

Bourgas Shipyard EOOD works on the Black Sea at Burgas, in Bulgaria. Ship repair and conversion is the main line, supported by a steel fabrication shop and by the cutting up of end-of-life vessels for scrap. Vessels come out of the water on a transverse ship lift with a transfer platform. The largest ship it will take is 160 metres long and 23 metres in beam at 5.10 metres draught, with a docking weight of 4,500 tonnes, so the yard is set up for coasters, tugs, workboats and naval craft rather than deep-sea tonnage. Two slipways and an outfitting quay stand alongside it. Metal fabrication is a separate product line and is not vessel work: containers, platforms, posts, formwork, templates, pipe structures, foundations and parts for agricultural machinery. Ship recycling is auxiliary to repair and is documented job by job. Eleven dated jobs are published, each of them described as cutting for scrap, among them the tug Perun in 2020, three missile boats, the tugs Luna, Diona and Feba, a landing craft, and the vessels Barika, Aheloi, Teteven, Archar, Bjala and Nakre. No published page ties that work to a dock, slipway, platform or beach, so the way the hulls leave the water is not stated. The operator's Bulgarian pages name shipbuilding among the company's principal activities, but no vessel type, hull or newbuilding project is named anywhere on the site.
