Astilleros Ría de Vigo

Astilleros Ria de Vigo, S.A. builds and repairs ships on the Beiramar waterfront in Vigo, on the Galician coast of north-west Spain. The yard dates from 1892 and traded until 2022 as Hijos de J. Barreras. Astilleros Armon acquired it in 2022 and renamed it, and runs it as an extension of the adjoining installations of its existing Vigo company, Astilleros Armon Vigo, S.A., which is a separate company a few doors along the same avenue. The site covers approximately 120,000 square metres. Two main building ways take hulls of up to 190 metres in length, and a slipway handles vessels of up to 2,400 tonnes. The yard has workshops, stores, covered construction areas and automated cutting and welding systems, and it is certified to ISO 9001 for quality and ISO 14001 for environmental management.
