Alexandria Shipyard

Alexandria Shipyard Co. is an Egyptian yard at Kabbary in the port of Alexandria, working around the clock. Its work divides into five areas: naval and defence construction, commercial shipbuilding, ship repair, industrial projects and a training centre. The site covers 400,000 square metres. Repair docking uses two graving docks and a floating dock rated at 6,000 DWT, which was enlarged and upgraded in 2025, together with a boat lift for craft of up to 800 DWT. Newbuilding is done on two building berths. The naval side is the larger part of the work. The yard builds Gowind 2500 corvettes and MEKO A-200 frigates, and delivered the first Ras El-Hekma ASD tugboat to the Egyptian Navy in June 2025. Commercial output covers ro-ro and general cargo ships, Nile barges, tugs in ASD, VSP and AHTS configurations, offshore units and GRP boats of the ASY-20 type. Recent deliveries are mostly small and mid-size craft. The tugboat Youssef was handed over in January 2025, the salvage tugboat Ismailia 1 was launched in June 2025 and a second Ismailia tug for the Suez Canal Authority in July 2026, Egypt's first GRP marine ambulance boat entered service in July 2025, and a pontoon for a floating bridges project was launched in July 2026. Other recorded work includes the supply vessel Maridive 602 and the Al-Nouran sugar plant, an example of the industrial engineering the yard sells outside shipbuilding.
