Pelikan Shipping Agency began its professional journey in 2003, founding its main office in Izmit, Turkey. The organization functions as a shipping agent throughout all Turkish ports and the strategically vital Turkish Straits, including the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles. Its primary responsibilities involve managing port agency duties, where it coordinates with local authorities to facilitate vessel entries, departures, and cargo operations. For vessels passing through international waterways, the agency manages transit formalities to ensure seamless movement between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.
Pelikan Shipping Agency provides a broad range of husbanding services designed to support vessel maintenance and crew welfare. This includes organizing crew changes, delivering fresh provisions, and securing freshwater supplies. The team also coordinates bunkering operations and provides technical support such as spare parts delivery, underwater inspections, and repair management. Compliance with international quality standards is a central feature of its operations, evidenced by its certifications in ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management systems, and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety.
The organization is a recognized member of national shipping associations and maintains a presence in various Turkish industrial hubs, particularly around the Kocaeli and Gebze regions. By focusing on efficient logistics and administrative precision, the agency supports the complex needs of ship owners and charterers in the region. Its expertise extends to handling specialized tasks such as medical attendance for crew members and the management of customs documentation for various cargo types. The staff remains active in every major Turkish harbor, ensuring that maritime traffic navigating these waters receives consistent and professional port agency support.
