Panagiotopoulos Shipping Agents operates as a maritime services provider based in Piraeus, Greece, specializing in comprehensive port agency and vessel attendance. Established in 1982, the company has spent over four decades facilitating marine operations across the Greek coastline. Its core activity involves serving as a primary link between shipowners, managers, and local port authorities to ensure that vessel turnarounds are managed efficiently and in accordance with local regulations.
From its central office in Piraeus, the company oversees operations in all major Greek ports and oil terminals, including Eleusis, Agioi Theodoroi, Lavrion, Chalkis, and Thessaloniki. This extensive domestic network allows for the delivery of standardized agency services throughout the region, supporting various vessel types such as tankers, bulk carriers, cruise ships, and yachts. The company’s regional presence is designed to provide local expertise and immediate operational assistance, regardless of the specific port of call within Greece.
The scope of services provided includes the management of all essential port call formalities. This encompasses vessel inward and outward clearance, coordination with customs and immigration departments, and the meticulous handling of cargo and ship documentation. Beyond administrative requirements, the company provides husbandry services to address the practical needs of the ship and its crew. These activities involve organizing crew changes, arranging medical assistance, and coordinating the delivery of provisions, spare parts, and bunkers.
Panagiotopoulos Shipping Agents also manages more technical maritime requirements, such as supervising dry-docking procedures and ship repairs within Greek shipyards. By acting as a local representative, the agency assists ship operators in navigating the logistical challenges of technical maintenance and emergency repairs. Through its long-standing history in the Piraeus maritime hub, the company maintains the necessary regional infrastructure to support the complex demands of international shipping operations, ensuring that both commercial and technical requirements are met during every port stay.
