Headquartered in the port city of Izmir, Mert Shipping serves the global maritime community through comprehensive vessel support across all Turkish coastal regions. The organization manages a wide array of port agency duties, ensuring that vessels entering Turkish waters receive efficient handling during cargo operations, technical stops, or transit passages. Specialized teams coordinate activities at major maritime hubs including Aliaga, Nemrut Bay, and Izmir, while also maintaining a strong presence in the Turkish Straits for ships navigating the Bosphorus and Dardanelles.
The scope of work for this shipping agent includes managing complex logistics such as crew changes, medical assistance, and the delivery of essential supplies like provisions, fresh water, and bunkers. Technical support is a core component of the services provided, covering ship repairs, underwater inspections, and coordination with local dry-docking facilities. By maintaining close communication with port authorities and customs, the agency facilitates the smooth movement of various vessel types, from bulk carriers and tankers to container ships.
Mert Shipping and Trading maintains high quality standards through its ISO 9001:2015 certification, reflecting a commitment to organized and transparent administrative processes. Beyond physical port operations, the firm assists with legal documentation, spare parts clearance, and protective agency services for owners and charterers. This regional expertise extends to every major harbor in Turkey, including Mersin, Iskenderun, and the industrial ports of the Marmara Sea. Professional memberships within local shipping associations further integrate the agency into the national maritime infrastructure, allowing for up-to-date knowledge of local regulations and port tariffs. Through diligent planning and 24/7 availability, the staff ensures that every vessel call is executed with precision, minimizing port stay durations and optimizing operational costs for international principals.
