Wuhan Qingchuan Welding NDT Co., Ltd. is a Wuhan-based non-destructive testing and welding inspection company supporting the inland waterway, river-sea and offshore shipbuilding sectors along the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Drawing on the long welding-engineering heritage of the Wuhan industrial cluster, Qingchuan Welding NDT focuses on the weld inspection, structural NDT and pressure-equipment verification scope required by Chinese flag-state authorities and IACS classification societies during newbuilding, conversion and repair projects, supporting yards across Hubei Province and neighbouring provinces. Inspectors perform magnetic particle, dye penetrant and ultrasonic examinations on hull plating welds, T-joints, structural members and pressure boundaries, together with radiographic examination of critical butt welds where required, with technicians qualified under the relevant Chinese national NDT certification scheme. Pressure vessel inspection capability supports portable extinguishers, breathing apparatus cylinders and small accumulators, while engineers also undertake hatch cover ultrasonic tightness testing under IACS UR Z17 and watertight integrity verification of weathertight doors and penetrations under SOLAS II-1 on completed and overhauled vessels. NDT and remote inspection programmes are delivered for shipyard quality assurance and for routine condition monitoring of operating tonnage, with reports retained for class file purposes. The company is recognised as a service supplier by ABS and the China Classification Society, allowing the test certificates and inspection reports it issues to be accepted by attending surveyors for statutory and class purposes on vessels constructed, converted or repaired at the inland yards of Hubei Province and the wider Yangtze River basin. The Qingchuan Welding team also provides welder qualification testing and weld procedure qualification record (WPQR) support to shipyards and steel fabricators delivering hull blocks, outfitting modules and pressure equipment to the marine industry.
