United Steel Structures Ltd, trading as USSL, was established in 1994 as a joint venture between Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. (GSI) and Havens Iron & Steel Company of the United States, and following two equity adjustments has become a wholly owned subsidiary of GSI. The company is headquartered in the Fangcun area of Guangzhou and has grown into one of the larger steel-structure manufacturing organisations active in international markets. According to its public corporate materials, the firm has undertaken more than 350 projects worldwide and delivered more than 700,000 metric tons of steel products to over 50 countries. Its primary business focus is steel-structure design, fabrication and delivery for the power plant, oil and gas and chemicals, metal and mining, commercial building, theme park, modularization and fireproofing sectors. The recognised marine service categories are limited to in-water survey and pressure vessel inspection, with ABS listed as the class society approval. Guangzhou hosts one of southern China's major shipbuilding bases through parent GSI, which provides the operational context for the marine pressure-vessel and survey work attributed to UNITED STEEL STRUCTURES LTD. The combination of GSI shipbuilding heritage, large-scale steel fabrication capacity and international project delivery experience underpins the firm's offering to owners and yards requiring certified pressure-vessel inspection and in-water survey support alongside its core EPC and modularization fabrication scopes for industrial clients.
