The Nondestructive Testing Office of Guijiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. CSSC is the in-house NDT department of CSSC Guijiang Shipbuilding, a modern shipyard within China State Shipbuilding Corporation that operates from Wuzhou in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Guijiang shipyard, originally founded in 1969 as the Guangxi Guijiang Shipyard and renamed after the CSSC reform of October 2006, specialises in military auxiliaries with displacement under 1,500 tons and commercial vessels with deadweight under 3,000 tons, ranking among the first-class small and medium shipbuilders in China and the leading yard of its size in Guangxi. The yard's NDT office provides the welding inspection capability required to deliver newbuild and repair projects to CCS class standards across river-sea and inland tonnage. Inspectors perform magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing on hull plating welds, T-joints and structural details, ultrasonic testing of butt and fillet welds on hull structures and pressure boundaries, and radiographic examination of selected critical welds. For completed hulls and outfitted vessels, the office carries out ultrasonic hatch cover tightness testing under IACS UR Z17 and watertight integrity verification of weathertight doors and penetrations in accordance with SOLAS II-1 requirements, with examination reports retained for the life of each ship's class file. The unit is recognised by the China Classification Society as a service supplier, allowing test certificates and reports issued during construction, conversion and warranty repair work to be accepted for statutory and class purposes on tonnage delivered from the Wuzhou facility on the Xi River system.
