Shanghai Jiang Nan Measuring And Testing Station is a specialist technical services unit focused on the noise, vibration and underwater inspection needs of merchant vessels and offshore tonnage in eastern China. Engineers carry out shipboard noise level measurements under IMO MSC.337(91) and SOLAS II-1/3-12, covering accommodation spaces, navigation bridge, machinery control rooms and working areas, with reports formatted for flag-state acceptance. Vibration analysis and balancing work supports main engine, auxiliary engine, shaft line and pump-set surveys, applying ISO 10816 evaluation criteria to identify imbalance, misalignment, looseness and bearing defects. The Shanghai Jiang Nan station team also conducts torsional vibration measurement for newbuild commissioning and for problem investigations on operating vessels, with measurement chains traceable to national calibration standards. For in-water survey support, the station coordinates underwater hull and propeller examinations with dive subcontractors, allowing class-accepted bottom inspections in lieu of drydocking, and supports owners with comparative measurement campaigns following retrofit or repair work. Routine condition monitoring is offered to ship managers and shipyards along the Yangtze River Delta on a campaign or call-out basis, with measurement equipment calibrated under traceable national standards and data presented in both narrowband and order-tracking formats. The station holds recognition with Bureau Veritas and DNV as a noise and vibration measurement service supplier, allowing test reports to be used in support of class statutory and Comfort Class surveys. Its Shanghai base gives access to the major terminals at Waigaoqiao, Yangshan and the wider Shanghai Port complex, as well as to repair yards across Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
