Shandong Norton Inspection & Testing Co., Ltd., known in Chinese as Shandong Nuodun Jianyan Jiance, is an independent inspection and non-destructive testing organisation based in Zhaoyuan City, within the Yantai prefecture on the northern coast of Shandong Peninsula. The company works alongside its sister entity Yantai Norton Welding Engineering Inspection Co., Ltd. and supports clients in shipbuilding, pressure equipment, steel structures and industrial construction.
Service scope includes the inspection and testing of boilers and pressure vessels, steel structures, space frame engineering, and ship structural components. Field activity is carried out using a fleet of inspection equipment that covers magnetic particle testing, Time-of-Flight Diffraction ultrasonic units, conventional X-ray inspection equipment and mobile gamma-ray flaw detection machines, the latter expanded after a recent investment project that introduced an additional gamma-ray mobile unit alongside the existing portable X-ray equipment. The Norton team is recognised by the China Classification Society as an approved service supplier for hatch cover ultrasonic tightness testing, watertight integrity verification and non-destructive examination work on ships.
