Palfinger Neptune Marine Equipment Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is the Chinese joint-venture organization established in 2019 between Austrian marine and offshore equipment group Palfinger Marine, headquartered in Salzburg, and Jiangyin Neptune Marine Appliance Co., Ltd., the established Chinese lifeboat manufacturer based in Jiangsu Province. The two parents each hold fifty per cent of the venture, with registered offices in Shanghai and production rooted in Jiangyin, allowing the partnership to combine European engineering expertise in marine cranes, davits, winches and access equipment with Neptune's design and manufacturing capabilities in fibreglass-reinforced plastic lifeboats and rescue boats. The Shanghai entity acts as the exclusive distributor of Neptune and Palfinger life-saving appliances, spare parts and after-sales services across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, addressing both newbuilding shipyards and operators of existing classed merchant tonnage. Service scope covers periodic life-saving appliance testing, lifeboat and rescue boat servicing under IMO MSC.402(96) and MSC/Circ.1206, liferaft servicing through partner stations, davit and launching system overhaul, lifting appliance and lifting gear surveys, and in-water hull inspections through subcontracted dive teams. The joint venture is listed by the Bahamas Maritime Authority as an approved service provider for life-saving appliances and is class-recognised by Bureau Veritas, DNV, Korean Register and Lloyd's Register, with factory-trained engineers dispatched from Shanghai to ports across the Asian region to support owners and managers on planned dockings, lay-up renewals and emergency casualty work.
