Established in August 2007 in Yangzhong City within the Zhenjiang prefecture of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu New Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. is a large-scale newbuilding shipyard situated on the southern bank of the Yangtze River in one of China's most developed shipbuilding clusters. The yard sits adjacent to the Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge and benefits from extensive road and inland-waterway connectivity, occupying a site of around 1.59 million square metres with a continuous river frontage of approximately 1,300 metres. Production facilities are configured to deliver bulk carriers, tankers and offshore engineering structures up to roughly three hundred thousand deadweight tons, with steel processing, sub-assembly and outfitting workshops feeding a series of building positions arranged for block erection. The company forms part of the wider Jiangsu Hantong Group, allowing access to shared design, procurement and project management resources alongside its sister ship-repair yard. Newbuild projects at Hantong have included multipurpose vessels, mid-size bulkers, chemical and product tankers, and specialized offshore tonnage, with construction carried out under Korean Register class supervision in line with major IACS construction rules. As part of in-house quality assurance during hull construction, Hantong applies non-destructive examination on welds and primary structure, together with in-water survey support and condition monitoring on completed vessels and on units returning for warranty work. Production is supported by a workforce skilled in steel processing, painting, piping and outfitting, and by long-standing relationships with both Chinese and international shipowners commissioning ocean-going merchant tonnage.
