Founded in 1974 in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Jiaoyan Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. is a long-established Chinese manufacturer of life-saving appliances and deck machinery serving the merchant shipping and offshore sectors. The company occupies a sixty-three thousand square metre facility, of which roughly forty-eight thousand square metres are dedicated production workshops, and employs almost four hundred specialists including designers, engineers and skilled fabricators. Annual output exceeds one thousand two hundred boats, covering totally enclosed lifeboats, free-fall lifeboats, partially enclosed lifeboats, fast rescue boats and conventional rescue craft built primarily from fibreglass-reinforced plastic. Beyond boats themselves, the Jiangyin factory designs and builds the associated launching appliances, including gravity davits, slewing davits, free-fall davit systems, embarkation ladder arrangements and electric winches, allowing fleet owners to source complete IMO LSA Code packages from a single supplier. Jiaoyan is a member of the International Life-saving Appliance Manufacturers' Association and maintains type approvals from classification societies including ABS and Lloyd's Register, with products delivered to shipyards in China and abroad for newbuilds covering bulk carriers, tankers, container vessels and offshore support units. The company is additionally authorized for periodic servicing of lifeboats, launching appliances and lifting gear under IMO MSC.402(96) and MSC/Circ.1206, undertaking the annual and five-yearly thorough examinations, dynamic load tests and certification work required by SOLAS Chapter III, with field engineers dispatched to ports across Jiangsu and the wider Yangtze River Delta.
