Integrated Technical Service Center of Jiangyin Customs is a technical inspection and testing organisation based in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, on the south bank of the Yangtze River. The center provides specialised laboratory and field services in support of customs, environmental and maritime regulatory regimes affecting commercial vessels calling at Jiangyin and nearby terminals. In its marine activity, the team works on ballast water and environmental testing scopes, including ballast water treatment system commissioning and in-service sampling and analysis, supporting compliance with the IMO Ballast Water Management Convention and related flag-state requirements. Sampling and analysis cover ballast water characteristics, biological organisms and chemical parameters relevant to verifying that treatment systems meet the D-2 performance standard. The Integrated Technical Service Center also undertakes underwater inspection assignments, with diver-based examinations of hull plating, sea chests, propellers and rudders feeding into in-water survey reports and damage assessments. Service supplier approvals are held under ABS, BV, ClassNK, DNV, KR and Lloyd's Register for relevant ballast water and inspection categories, supporting acceptance of laboratory and survey reports during periodical and statutory inspections. Working from Jiangyin, the team supports bulk carriers, tankers and other tonnage trading along the Yangtze and through East China ports, coordinating attendances with attending surveyors, port-state inspectors and ship managers. As part of the Jiangyin Customs technical infrastructure, the center benefits from laboratory accreditation, calibration capability and multi-disciplinary expertise. Through this combination of environmental testing, underwater inspection and broad class recognition, it provides a focused service to shipowners, charterers and managers active in the region trading through Yangtze River corridors and adjacent eastern Chinese gateways.
