Inchcape Shipping Services China is the Chinese arm of Inchcape Shipping Services, a global port agency and marine services network operating through more than 240 proprietary offices across some sixty countries with a team of over three thousand professionals. In China, the organization supports merchant vessels calling at major ports along the eastern seaboard, including Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Dalian, Tianjin, Xiamen, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, providing port agency, husbandry, crew logistics, cargo coordination and a portfolio of marine technical services tailored to deep-sea trading tonnage. Within the life-saving appliance segment, the China operation is recognized by the Liberian flag administration as an Authorized Service Provider, holding ASP authorization for lifeboat, davit and on-load release gear servicing in accordance with IMO MSC.402(96) and MSC/Circ.1206. Inchcape engineers carry out the five-yearly thorough examinations, operational tests and dynamic load tests required by SOLAS Chapter III, alongside annual servicing of liferafts, hydrostatic release units, immersion suits, lifejackets and rescue boats. Periodic inspections of launching appliances and lifting gear are conducted under approvals from major classification societies including Bureau Veritas and Lloyd's Register, with reports issued in formats accepted by flag states and IACS surveyors. The Shanghai-based team coordinates attendance across Chinese terminals through Inchcape's broader local infrastructure, enabling attendance during cargo operations to minimize off-hire and supporting fleet managers with planning, parts logistics and consolidated reporting tied to vessel maintenance schedules.
