Operating from Shanghai as part of the wider Hostmost Group, this entity provides marine electronics installation, repair, survey and after-sales support to ships calling at the Yangtze River Delta. The parent group traces its origins to 1989 and today maintains fourteen locations across Asia and North America, with major branches in Hong Kong, mainland China, Singapore, the Philippines, Canada and Vietnam, supported by round-the-clock dispatch. Hostmost (Shanghai) specializes in Global Maritime Distress and Safety System radio surveys carried out in compliance with SOLAS Chapter IV, together with Voyage Data Recorder and Simplified VDR annual performance tests for both current production models and discontinued legacy units that remain in service. Engineers also perform Automatic Identification System annual inspections, ECDIS commissioning and type-specific training, satellite communication commissioning, and routine servicing of bridge navigation equipment. Class approvals held by the group cover ABS, Bureau Veritas, CCS, DNV, Korean Register and Lloyd's Register, ensuring that survey reports issued in Shanghai are accepted by flag administrations and IACS members for statutory radio certification. The team is staffed by more than ninety factory-trained service engineers and class-approved GMDSS radio and VDR APT surveyors, allowing attendance at anchorages, container terminals and shipyards along the Shanghai, Ningbo-Zhoushan and Taicang coastlines. The Shanghai office additionally hosts JRC ECDIS Type Specific Training facilities, complementing similar centres in Xiamen, the Philippines and Hong Kong, and can deliver onboard refresher courses tailored to operator and master requirements.
