Fuzhou Ocean Success Marine Engineering is a Fujian-based service company affiliated with General Maritime Technical Consultant & Service (Fuzhou) Co., Ltd., a survey and engineering group established in June 2015. From its Fuzhou base, the firm supports merchant vessels calling at Fujian ports and at other harbours along the southeastern coast, working with shipowners, managers and port agents on class-mandated inspections and routine safety maintenance. The company holds recognitions from ABS, Bureau Veritas, CCS and RINA for the relevant service scopes, allowing it to issue reports accepted at intermediate and special surveys across the major flag administrations.
Hull and structural inspection forms a major part of the workload. Ocean Success surveyors deliver hull ultrasonic thickness gauging for class renewal and intermediate surveys, ultrasonic hatch cover testing, watertight integrity testing on bulkhead doors and weather closures, and a range of NDT and remote inspection assignments. Pressure vessel inspection rounds out the structural offering, and lifting appliances and gear surveys are provided for cargo handling equipment, including cranes, derricks and provision davits.
Life-saving appliance servicing is delivered to the same fleet base, with periodical LSA testing, lifeboat and rescue boat annual and five-year examinations, liferaft station co-ordination, davit and launching system checks. Fire-safety scopes include fire-fighting equipment periodical inspection, extinguisher recharging, hose and hydrant pressure testing, breathing-apparatus servicing covering EEBDs and SCBA sets, and maintenance of fixed CO2, foam and water-spray systems. The combined service package allows port-call visits to consolidate several mandatory recurring items in a single attendance, which is particularly useful for bulk carriers and tankers calling at Fuzhou's container, bulk and oil terminals on tight commercial schedules.
