COSCO MEEC Shanghai is the Shanghai operating arm of COSCO Marine Electronic Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd., a marine electronics and communication subsidiary within the COSCO Shipping International group. The company forms part of the Yuantong Marine Service network that supports merchant tonnage, offshore units, coastal radio stations, and land users across China and through affiliated offices in Beijing, Japan, Singapore, Germany, and the United States.
Field service work covers annual performance testing of Voyage Data Recorder and Simplified VDR equipment, GMDSS annual performance testing and GMDSS equipment service, AIS annual inspection, and the installation, commissioning, and repair of radio communication, satellite communication, and navigation systems for ships and offshore facilities. Engineering and technical teams handle debugging, fault-finding, and on-site rectification of installed equipment, alongside marine material supply, voyage repair, and consolidated equipment and spare-parts supply for existing and newbuild vessels. Underwater inspection and non-destructive testing complement the communication-side work for owners requesting consolidated technical attendance during in-service surveys.
Engineering activity is recognised by major classification societies including the American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, the China Classification Society, DNV, the Korean Register of Shipping, Lloyd's Register, and RINA for radio survey and annual performance test deliverables. Backed by COSCO Shipping International's fleet-supply network and Yuantong's ten-year operations track record, the Shanghai office serves owners calling at Shanghai, Ningbo, Nantong, Zhangjiagang, and the wider Yangtze estuary port cluster, with mobilisation reach to Qingdao and Tianjin as required.
