CNOOC Offshore Engineering Solutions Co., Ltd. is the Tianjin-headquartered offshore engineering arm of China National Offshore Oil Corporation. Operating under the listed platform Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd., known as COOEC, the company is the only large general contractor in China with end-to-end capability to design, procure, construct, install, commission, and maintain offshore oil and gas development projects. Activities span fixed platforms, FPSO units, subsea production systems, and pipelines from the Bohai Sea down to the South China Sea.
Marine service work for shipowners and offshore operators covers underwater inspection and in-water survey of hulls, jackets, conductors, risers, and pipelines, hatch cover ultrasonic tightness testing, hull ultrasonic thickness gauging, watertight integrity verification, and non-destructive testing on structural components. The fleet operates seventeen ROVs across observation, light-duty, shallow-water, deep-water, and work-class categories, supporting inspection, maintenance, and repair work to 1,500-metre water depth. A construction fleet of nineteen vessels in six classes, including a 7,500-ton derrick crane vessel and class-3 dynamic positioning deep-water derrick and laying ships, gives the company a full subsea project platform.
Operational fabrication bases at Tanggu in Tianjin, Qingdao in Shandong, and Zhuhai in Guangdong total around 3.5 million square metres of yard area. CNOOC Offshore Engineering Solutions is recognised by major classification societies including the American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, the China Classification Society, and DNV for routine in-water survey and offshore inspection work. This recognition lets the Tianjin organisation deliver reporting acceptable for class records at Chinese northern, eastern, and southern offshore field clusters.
