China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. is a state-owned shipbuilding enterprise within the China Merchants industrial portfolio, with its origins traceable to Jinling Shipyard founded in 1952 and its headquarters formally established at Yizheng on the north bank of the Yangtze River following the corporate restructuring of 2019. The yard operates across Nanjing and a 900,000 square metre Yizheng site, supporting two kilometres of shoreline and an annual shipbuilding capacity that reaches two million deadweight tons. Activities cover the new construction of cargo ships, ro-ro vessels, floating docks and specialised tonnage alongside ship repair, conversion and modernisation projects. Within the yard's quality assurance organisation, technical teams carry out non-destructive testing and underwater inspection scopes required during new building and repair periods. NDT methods include ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant and visual examination of welds, plating and structural members, while diver-technicians perform in-water surveys of hull plating, sea chests, propellers, rudders and other below-waterline items to support classification society survey requirements. The Jiangsu yard holds service supplier recognition under the Korean Register for relevant categories, allowing reports issued from its in-water and NDT campaigns to be considered during class survey activities. The Yizheng location offers convenient Yangtze access for international tonnage trading to North Asia, while CMG group resources support engineering, procurement and project management on complex new building and conversion programmes. Customers include shipowners, ship managers and operators that need a sizeable, classification-aligned facility for new construction, repair and inspection work on commercial vessels operating across global trade routes.
