BD Marine Co., Limited is a Shanghai-based technical service provider for marine communication, navigation, and ship safety equipment. Founded in 2012 and operating out of Jiading District, the team supports merchant vessels, offshore units, and coastal tonnage with installation, commissioning, inspection, repair, and periodic certification of bridge and radio equipment at Chinese ports and overseas anchorages reachable from the Shanghai hub.
Core service work centres on Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) annual performance testing, Voyage Data Recorder and S-VDR annual performance testing, AIS annual inspection, and follow-up commissioning of radio, satellite, and navigation equipment for newbuild deliveries and retrofit projects. Engineers carry portable test sets that interface with the major brands of MF/HF and VHF radio, EPIRB, SART, satellite communication terminals, and integrated bridge systems, and a Windows-based VDR playback program supports post-incident data extraction and review. The team also supports hatch cover ultrasonic tightness testing, pressure vessel inspection, watertight integrity verification, underwater inspection, and non-destructive testing for shipowners arranging consolidated technical attendances.
The Shanghai workshop holds approvals from the China Classification Society, DNV, the Russian Maritime Register, and the Russian River Register for AIS type-tested equipment supply, and field service work is recognised by the American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, CCS, DNV, the Indian Register of Shipping, Lloyd's Register, and RINA. Engineers are familiar with classification society survey requirements under SOLAS Chapter IV and Chapter V and can produce reporting acceptable for class records. From this base BD Marine serves vessels calling at Shanghai, Ningbo, Nantong, Zhangjiagang, and other Yangtze estuary ports.
